A good bike fit is the foundation for comfort, power and fewer overuse problems. Aero tweaks come after the basics are right.

    • Saddle height: a common starting point leaves a slight knee bend, often described as roughly 25-35 degrees of knee flexion at the bottom of the stroke
    • Saddle setback and reach affect how weight is distributed between saddle, pedals and hands
    • Cleat position influences knee tracking and foot comfort; small changes can matter
    • Pain in the knee, lower back, neck or numb hands is often a fit issue worth investigating

Have you had a professional bike fit, and what changed most?

A rough guide to knee pain location: pain at the front of the knee is often associated with a saddle that is too low or too far forward, pain at the back with a saddle that is too high. These are tendencies, not diagnoses; persistent pain deserves assessment.
